Infineon Partners with NVIDIA to Accelerate Development of High-Performance Motor Control Solutions for Humanoid Robots

Apr 24,2026

Infineon Technologies, a global leader in power systems and IoT semiconductors, has announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to accelerate development in the humanoid robotics space. This integration combines Infineon’s expertise in microcontrollers, sensors, and intelligent actuators with NVIDIA’s Jetson Thor modules, enabling OEMs and ODMs to build motor control solutions for humanoid robots that deliver higher efficiency, performance, and scalability. As humanoid robots become increasingly relevant across manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare, these applications demand reliable, high-precision motion control supported by advanced electronics.

Infineon CEO Jochen Hanebeck highlighted that the partnership merges Infineon’s broad device portfolio with NVIDIA’s accelerated computing to create tightly integrated, scalable solutions that help customers shorten time to market. Infineon provides essential building blocks for humanoid robots—from power switching and microcontrollers to sensing and connectivity—supporting perception, motion, actuation, and secure communication.

Deepu Talla, Vice President of Robotics and Edge AI at NVIDIA, noted that Jetson Thor was designed to advance physical AI and robotics, and that Infineon’s technologies enrich the Jetson ecosystem by enabling efficient and scalable motor control platforms for next-generation humanoid systems.

Infineon contributes a comprehensive set of tailored solutions, including its PSOC™ and AURIX™ microcontroller families, which offer industry-leading security against cyber threats and unauthorized access. These multi-core, real-time MCUs are critical for ensuring safe operation, rapid response, and adaptive control in robotic systems. Building on its leadership in automotive microcontrollers and its recent acquisition of Marvell’s automotive Ethernet business, Infineon also expands connectivity options with the BRIGHTLANE™ Ethernet portfolio—an important component for humanoid robot architectures.

Real-time AI and precise control are central to advanced robotics. In this collaboration, Infineon provides its PSOC Control C3 MCU family, designed to integrate seamlessly with NVIDIA’s Holoscan sensor bridge and Jetson Thor modules. This platform supports real-time inference and scalable system design. PSOC Control devices are particularly well suited for Field-Oriented Control (FOC) algorithms, widely used in precision motor control to reduce noise, stabilize torque, and minimize vibration in humanoid robots. Infineon further complements the solution with a complete motor control chipset, including the latest GaN-based transistors for high-density, high-efficiency designs, along with integrated gate drivers and current sensors that simplify system design and communication challenges.

Through this collaboration, Infineon is helping drive the evolution of humanoid robotics, enabling more advanced machines capable of executing complex tasks with accuracy, efficiency, and reliability.
