Infineon Wins 2026 AI Impact Award for 'GenAI for Test Engineering' Project

Apr 30,2026

Infineon Technologies has been honored with the 2026 AI Impact Award for its “GenAI for Test Engineering” initiative. The award, jointly presented by Manager Magazin and Porsche Consulting, recognizes companies that achieve outstanding and measurable business results through the targeted use of artificial intelligence.

“I am extremely proud of our team and this recognition,” said Elke Reichart, Member of the Management Board and Chief Digital and Sustainability Officer at Infineon. “This award validates our holistic AI strategy: we are both a technology provider and an active user of AI. We deliberately apply AI where it delivers measurable value for our customers and our business. ‘GenAI for Test Engineering’ is a strong example of how Infineon successfully combines digitalization and innovation to drive real impact.”

Infineon received the award in the Manufacturing & Supply Chain category for its project “GenAI for Test Engineering – Automated Test Programming.” The solution uses specially developed AI agents, multimodal large language models, and domain expertise to automate the generation of test code in semiconductor manufacturing. In the short term, the project can reduce the time required to create software code for testing new semiconductor solutions by 50%, and in the long term by up to 80%. This significantly improves the productivity of hundreds of test engineers while accelerating time-to-market and enhancing product quality. The solution was developed in close collaboration with test engineers and is continuously monitored to ensure compliance with Infineon’s AI principles and ethical standards.

The AI Impact Award, presented by Manager Magazin and Porsche Consulting, highlights AI solutions that create substantial economic value across industries. Entries are evaluated by a jury of experts from industry associations, businesses, and academia across three categories: Product & Customer Experience, Manufacturing & Supply Chain, and Organization & Management. The awards ceremony took place at the ESO Supernova Planetarium near Munich, where winners were recognized for their achievements. Manager Magazin will feature the award recipients in a dedicated report to showcase their contributions to a professional audience.
